WiMAX Forum Member Companies and Industry Experts to Present Products and Projects Online
CLACKAMAS, OR – April 23, 2020 - The WiMAX Forum®, the leading nonprofit organization that certifies and promotes the compatibility and interoperability of broadband wireless products based upon IEEE Standard 802.16, is delighted to announce a series of virtual presentations starting next month.
In light of the growing global concern, environment uncertainty and travel restrictions due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) and while we have to stay away from each other and maintain social distance, meeting face-to-face at conferences may take some time. Meanwhile, the WiMAX Forum is working on scheduling virtual meetings and presentations to provide our members and community with the necessary tools to remain informed, exchange ideas, share knowledge and maximize value.
The presentations and discussions will provide the community in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience. Presentations will evolve towards the latest Aeronautical Mobile Airport Communication System (AeroMACS) and WiMAX developments, worldwide deployments and applications, security through the WiMAX Forum Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Policy and other topics.
The agenda schedule is under development and it already includes participants from the following organizations: Aviation Data Communication Corporation (ADCC), Avicom Japan, CelPlan Technologies, DigiCert, Eonti, EUROCONTROL, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Honeywell, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Jezetek, Leonardo, Lisbon Airport, Powertech Labs, RIOgaleao, Sectigo, Siemens, Telrad Networks, and others to be announced soon.
“Earlier this year we have received the notice of cancelation of World ATM Congress in Madrid scheduled for 10-12 March and had to made the difficult decision to postpone the AeroMACS 2020 – Lisbon Workshop previously planned for 1-2 April in Lisbon, Portugal,” said Declan Byrne, WiMAX Forum President. “We will continue monitoring the latest developments to determine the safest course of action as the situation evolves. We hope things get better soon to reschedule the meetings we had planned and share with you the latest developments.”
The WiMAX Forum will keep busy preparing for exciting meetings and events in person and virtually to raise awareness about the benefits of the AeroMACS and WiMAX technology. Please stay tuned and for more information, please visit: WiMAXForum.com.
