Industry experts to share developments of the wireless broadband technology for the airport surface
CLACKAMAS, OR - August 25, 2016 - This October, the WiMAX Forum® will host AeroMACS 2016 - National Harbor to provide insights and delineate the immense value of Aeronautical Mobile Airport Communication System (AeroMACS) based on the latest developments and deployments. Designed to deliver maximum value to the aviation community, AeroMACS 2016 - National Harbor will be collocated with the ATCA 61st Annual Conference and Exposition on Tuesday, October 18 at 13:00 in the Exhibit Hall Theater at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. Participation is free for all ATCA conference attendees.
The current system for the airport surface is being pushed to its limits and needs to be upgraded. To this end, the AeroMACS profile has been embraced and adopted to support next generation airport surface communications needs and improve the safety and regularity of flights worldwide. At AeroMACS 2016 - National Harbor, industry experts will discuss AeroMACS standardization, certification, security, applications, deployments, the Asia perspective, and more. The program aims to educate the aviation community and foster collaboration in the aviation and wireless industries. If you are committed to the advancement of aviation wireless broadband, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to meet, exchange ideas, and develop cooperative business relationships.
“Much progress for AeroMACS has been achieved with ICAO and AEEC further developing the standard, Telrad Networks having attained Wave 1 Certification, full certification being available in the coming month, and deployments being established around the globe. AeroMACS is becoming more viable and being adopted to support key operational domains needed for the exchange of secure, high speed data between aircraft, vehicles, and ground infrastructure,” said Declan Byrne, President of the WiMAX Forum. “The ATCA Conference will allow airports, aviation authorities, and others to share experiences on how AeroMACS technology is benefitting all stakeholders.”
The WiMAX Forum and its member companies with support from CelPlan Technologies will participate in the ATCA 61st Annual Exhibition with an AeroMACS Pavilion at Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center on October 17-19, 2016. WiMAX Forum leadership will be located at the AeroMACS Booth 200 in between two of the AeroMACS industry leaders and WiMAX Forum members Siemens Booth 101 and Telrad Networks Booth 201.
