Around the clock, 365 days a year, Austro Control ensures safe, punctual and environmentally friendly air traffic. No easy task with more than one million flight movements per year and daily up to 4,000 controlled aircraft over Austria. Air traffic controllers of the overflying control center in the 3rd district and in the air traffic control centers at all Austrian airports ensure the airplanes safely and efficiently through the airspace. The tasks of Austro Control include, in addition to air traffic control, the establishment and operation of technical air traffic control systems, air traffic control, the registration and inspection of aircraft, the issuing of pilot licenses, the search and rescue service and the supervision of flying schools.
