The WiMAX Forum to Host a Free Live Webinar on the Use of 3.65 GHz Spectrum

11-Jan-2018

On February 21 at 10AM PDT Learn How to Leverage the Spectrum Use Under the CBRS Rules

CLACKAMAS, OR – January 11, 2018 – The WiMAX Forum®, the leading nonprofit organization that certifies and promotes the compatibility and interoperability of broadband wireless products based upon IEEE Standard 802.16, is pleased to announce a free live webinar on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 10AM PDT called “Promoting the Use of 3.65 GHz Spectrum Under the CBRS Rules.” The webinar is open to all WiMAX Forum member companies and approved participants seeking more details. For additional information and registration for the webinar, please click here.

A trend has emerged for the 3.65 GHz band due to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) Report and Order that permits the commercial use of 150 MHz of spectrum in the 3550-3700 MHz band to wireless broadband service providers, industrial users, and other federal/non-federal users. This significant operational change for the 3.65 GHz wireless broadband community demands solid guidelines, policies, and industry support to have adequate protection.

At the webinar, the WiMAX Forum and Smart Energy Working Group (SEWG) Leadership will address key questions about the spectrum, technology, CBRS changes and how to leverage the use of 3.65 GHz spectrum under the CBRS constrains. The WiMAX Forum SEWG and its members have been closely monitoring this activity with constant interactions with the rule makers and ecosystem players to promote the continuous and effective use of the 3.65 GHz band.

“The 3.65 GHz Spectrum continues to be a viable choice to leverage your Smart Energy networks,” said Declan Byrne, WiMAX Forum President. “To enable the Smart Energy market advancement under the CBRS constrains, solution providers must understand every stage of the value chain to allow the market to scale. At the webinar, learn about the significant operational changes for the 3.65 GHz wireless broadband and specifically WiMAX deployments.”
