FAA and EUROCONTROL have identified AeroMACS as the wireless broadband technology to upgrade today’s data communication systems on the airport surface and thus increase the safety and regularity of flights. AeroMACS operates in an ITU-allocated protected aviation spectrum band, and there are hundreds of applications for AeroMACS. Trials and deployments are underway around the globe with Boston Logan International Airport being the most recent airport to plan for an AeroMACS installation. Full AeroMACS Certification will be available this year.
