WiMAX Forum and Member Companies to Showcase the Benefits of AeroMACS
CLACKAMAS, OR – February 6, 2020 - The WiMAX Forum®, the leading nonprofit organization that certifies and promotes the compatibility and interoperability of broadband wireless products based upon IEEE Standard 802.16, is delighted to announce the fifth annual AeroMACS 2020 - Madrid collocated with World ATM Congress on Wednesday, 11 March from 14:10 to 16:10 at the Aireon Spotlight Stage on the exhibition floor located at IFEMA – Feria de Madrid Convention Centre.
Limited data capacity of ground communications networks at major airports places a burden on several applications and functionalities to meet today’s airport traffic and safety communications demands. Aeronautical Mobile Airport Communication System (AeroMACS) has been adopted throughout the world to support this increasing need for data communications and information sharing on the airport surface for both fixed and mobile applications.
In the ever-changing aviation environment, AeroMACS has demonstrated to have the characteristics needed to greatly improve operations at the airport surface with less disruption, easy installation and maintenance at a reduced cost. AeroMACS 2020 - Madrid will showcase how AeroMACS deployments have been positively impacting and benefiting the aviation industry in the past years.
“AeroMACS has been achieving unprecedented milestones and exceeding expectations with an increasing number of deployments globally,” said Declan Byrne, WiMAX Forum President. “AeroMACS is in compliance with worldwide aviation standards, operates in a regulated spectrum band, protected from interference and has been designed to support critical safety services at the airport surface. Learn how you can implement AeroMACS to improve ground communications and efficiency at the AeroMACS 2020 - Madrid.”
The presentations and discussions will provide the global Aviation community participating at the World ATM Congress in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in deploying effective and profitable AeroMACS networks. This year’s presentation will evolve towards the latest developments, worldwide deployments and applications, security through the WiMAX Forum Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Policy and other topics. Agenda details and speakers will be announced soon. The WiMAX Forum would like to extend a special thank you to our member companies for supporting the event.
Participation is free and open to all World ATM Congress attendees. Our goal is for attending participants to gain concrete knowledge that will help them build best-in-class AeroMACS networks and fully utilize them. Visit the AeroMACS stands during World ATM Congress exhibition, the WiMAX Forum Leadership will be located at Hall 10 - Stand 117 near AeroMACS industry leaders and WiMAX Forum Members Leonardo Stand 890 and Siemens Stand 119. We would be happy to tell you about AeroMACS and learn more about you. Please visit the Exhibition Hall Floor Plan to find our locations.
The WiMAX Forum is hosting and participating in aviation events throughout 2020 to share the latest AeroMACS developments and increase awareness about the technology. ANA - Aeroportos de Portugal in cooperation with the WiMAX Forum will be hosting an AeroMACS Workshop in the next months in Lisbon, Portugal. The program will include AeroMACS Demo with visit to the airside and system, presentations, worldwide cases and successful implementations.
