Dr. Mohammad Shakouri

Chairman, WiMAX Forum

Dr. Mohammad (Mo) Shakouri serves as Chairman of WiMAX Forum. Dr. Shakouri, EVP Technology, CTO at Novation Broadband has over 20 years of experience in building global partnerships and bringing to market innovative wireless broadband network solutions to meet affordable broadband, education, security and digital empowerment of carriers and enterprises. Previously 11 years with Alvarion, Dr. Shakouri held a senior executive position responsible for driving innovation, strategy and positioning the corporation as an industry leader by driving marketing, WiMAX standardization and 4G international market developments. At Lucent, Dr. Shakouri was responsible for managing, building and developing network solutions for European and South American broadband wireless markets. He also spent 14 years in technical and management positions with Hewlett-Packard developing microwave and fiber optic communication components and systems. He co-founded the wireless systems division, where he was responsible for the engineering team’s development of low-cost residential digital wireless systems for U.S. and Asian markets. Dr. Shakouri earned his doctorate in electrical engineering from Stanford University on Subpicosecond GaAs Wafer Probe Systems. Dr. Shakouri is also on advisory board of Wireless Communication Alliance and an IEEE MTT-SCV 2004 Chairman.
