24-Jan-2019

WiMAX Forum and Member Companies to Participate with AeroMACS Presentations and Exhibition

CLACKAMAS, OR – January 24, 2019 - The WiMAX Forum®, the leading nonprofit organization that certifies and promotes the compatibility and interoperability of broadband wireless products based upon IEEE Standard 802.16, is pleased to announce the fourth annual AeroMACS 2019 - Madrid collocated with World ATM Congress on Wednesday, 13 March from 14:10 to 16:10 at the Aireon Spotlight Stage on the exhibition floor located at IFEMA – Feria de Madrid Convention Centre.

Major airports throughout the world lack the communications capacity to meet today’s airport traffic demands. Aeronautical Mobile Airport Communication System (AeroMACS) supports the increasing need for data communications and information sharing on the airport surface for both fixed and mobile applications. AeroMACS 2019 - Madrid will showcase how AeroMACS deployments have been positively impacting the aviation industry. Speakers have been invited to discuss AeroMACS deployments in Brazil, China, Japan, Portugal, the United States and other places. The agenda and speaker details will be announced soon.

The event will support the global Aviation community in deploying profitable and effective AeroMACS networks. This year’s presentation will evolve towards the latest developments, worldwide deployments and applications, security through the WiMAX Forum Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Policy and other topics. Agenda details and speakers will be announced soon. The WiMAX Forum would like to extend a special thank you to our member companies DigiCert, Powertech Labs, Sectigo, Siemens and Telrad Networks for supporting the event.

Participation is free and open to all World ATM Congress attendees. Our goal is for attending participants to gain concrete knowledge that will help them build best-in-class AeroMACS networks and fully utilize them. Visit the AeroMACS stands during World ATM Congress exhibition, the WiMAX Forum Leadership will be located at Hall 10 - Stand 117 near AeroMACS industry leaders and WiMAX Forum Members Leonardo Stand 890 and Siemens Stand 119. We would be happy to tell you about AeroMACS and learn more about you. Please visit the Exhibition Hall Floor Plan to find our locations.

“The AeroMACS ecosystem is gaining momentum and the number of deployments is increasing,” said Declan Byrne, WiMAX Forum President. “AeroMACS creates a new airport surface data communication system that is robust, efficient, secure, safe, and flexible. More AeroMACS deployments are expected at airports around the world in 2019. Learn how you can improve data communications on the airport surface at the AeroMACS 2019 - Madrid.”
